Australia Artist Development Project

Plans are well underway with the development of the new Hurried Steps FGM story that is based in Australia. Research has been progressing for months, the partner organisation in Sydney has been gathering tremendous support under the guidance of the amazing and resourceful Olivia Brown. Dacia Maraini has sharpened her pen and the story is about to appear. Being involved with Hurried Steps continues to be a voyage of discovery for me and everyone involved. I am, as ever, awestruck by the stories, of women's capacity for endurance. I am looking forward to meeting the remarkable people working in the women's support networks in New South Wales and also to meeting and working with Australian actors as well as the academics who know the work of Dacia Maraini.
